Getting nervous

I’m due sept 14th, FTM, and I’m feeling so unprepared for everything 😩 I don’t feel like my doctor’s appointments have been very helpful for planning… what are you guys doing to be prepared for the hospital? Anyone collecting colostrum? What are you bringing in your bag? Any tips or information would be so helpful ❤️

In my bag I have: my own labor gown, Frida post partum kit, lip balm, scrunchies, new toothbrush and toothpaste, lavender oil, hand lotion, wish garden after ease and milk rich, hair brush, hair detangler spray (I have very long hair), grippy socks, slippers, post partum belt, comfy night gowns and wide sweatpants, sterilized binkies for baby, some clothes and swaddles for baby, going home outfit for baby, snacks for husband, honey sticks, clear protein drinks, coconut water, chia squeeze pouches, bone broth, phone charger with long cord, 24 pack of water in the car (some hospitals will not provide you with water, only ice chips, even after birth and expect you to fill it up with tap water). This is my second baby and my first labor was 77 hours, so I might be packing more than some other people 😅

I love your list! I also packed an electric heating pad and my favorite pillow and blanket for extra comfort. And Depends because they're way more comfortable and less awkward than what the hospital gives you!! I also made a Playlist

Yes, the mesh underwear and giant pads from the hospital can be awkward. I have the disposable postpartum underwear in the Frida postpartum kit along with my own pads and some disposable period underwear. Heating pad is a good idea too! I will also grab my pregnancy pillow when we head to the hospital. I’ve been using it the whole time even outside of pregnancy 😄

Bring a baby nail file/clippers! My first was born with little claws and the hospital told me they couldn’t do anything about it

@Jana 77 hours omg mama 😭 thank you so much for the detailed list ❤️

Also a ftm, due on the 15th of September! I also feel this way 🥲

I just started using my lactation massager my boobs have been feeling so tough lately so hopefully it helps with milk production. For my bag I have toothbrush/paste, comb, extra pillow, peri bottle, going home outfit for me and baby, sports bra, nursing pad (just in case) house shoes, burp cloth, hat, mittens.. everything else my hospital provides (pacifiers, onesies, tucks, pads, etch)

I’m due the same day as you and I am preparing. My house is together and my bag is simple clothes, pj’s , fan and adult diapers, peri bottle chargers etc.

Ouu due date twin 💕 u can always look on Pinterest for a list. But try not to over pack because u don’t need half the stuff , hospital provides. And make sure u got space to bring home some of the stuff they provide , I hear it comes in handy.

@Jody I needed all of the stuff I packed and then some because I was there for almost a week, it really depends. I also did not get much from the hospital. Going to a different hospital this time, but I don’t want to rely on them providing everything and then they don’t, so I’m bringing my own stuff. If they do provide a little more than the last one, that’s an added bonus.

I try not to over do it but obviously clothes for me and baby I’m bringing a fan my boppy pillow for nursing a hospital gown for after birth so easy to nurse from and lounge in my little sign I can put her info on for photos I’ll be bringing snacks the hospital does provide a lot as far as coolingspray for your lady bits peri bottle mesh disposable undies my hospital provided water snacks but I have cravings I haven’t been able to eat due to GD so bringing my own; make sure you have the car seat ready and installed bring your own breast pump if you have one they will show you how to use it

Im due the 11th and i have absolutely NOTHING packed in mine or baby boys hospital bags 🤣🤣, i havent washed any of his clothes yet, or even had the chance to set up his bassinet 😭 but im planning on getting that all done within this week and next week when i have off from work 😬🤞🏻
