Potty training

How soon we can start potty training? Plus any tips and tricks. Can’t we just take them to the washroom (if they let you do so )

Whenever you wanna try/your LO wants to/show signs. We use potty (now toilet) since 7.5m first thing in the morning, last thing before bath and sometimes during the day. She is mostly dry at nights and does most poops in the toilet, but isn't connecting needing to go and going to the toilet yet (even though she randomly does, no pattern), so we're just doing this and it works great

Following in need of advise. What are the signs to look out for if LO is ready to potty train?

Nappy changes are becoming a nightmare for us so I'm actually buying a loo seat tomorrow. Not officially going to start as such but start getting my son used to sitting on it in the morning and at night and see how he goes x

@Ikkie some kids pull on their nappies, hold the pee/poo. They give often signs when they're about to go (you might have noticed the focus face just before poo) and some parents encourage them to use potty then. I think there is no harm in buying potty/loo seat, if your kid doesn't like it, you try later, but if they happily sit, they will eventually start putting the association together. We also have toys and books there, so it's fun

NHS now recommends from 9 months. We started at 6. You can start from newborn. X
