Potty 💩 advice

We started potty training on Monday and my son is confidently doing wees but he’s terrified of poos. He is hysterical will not do it on the potty or in a nappy now. He’s clutching his bum saying ‘help mummy’. Eventually he’s had a few accidents on the floor but he’s been so upset and holding it in. On day 2 he did 2 poos on the potty and was fine but after that absolutely terrified. Any advice to stop him holding it in? I don’t even care if he 💩 on the floor just hate the thought of him holding it in. We have tried blowing bubbles as I read that helps those muscles relax but hasn’t worked.

How old is he xx

@Heather he is 2 and a few months

Following - exact same issue with my little girl!

No advice as I've recently been through it eith my little girl not going, unfortunately we tried everything but nothing worked it was just a waiting game for when she felt ready it probably took about 2/3 months before she started to do it confidently. After a couple of days of holding in shed ask to do it in a nappy so we did that .We bought books too which she loved but didn't really do anything she just decided one day to do it on the toilet and has been fine since, it will come!

This happened with my son he would get so upset and demand his pull up to poo in. He was absolutely fine with his wee. I used a reward type thing with him and I let him lead and he is now pooing on the potty independently 😊 took around 2 weeks to click x
