Gestational diabetes

Welp, officially diagnosed. I cried. lol. Blood sugar was 211 for the test. 😔 going to see a specialist but for now I’ve started the diet that mainly consists of things that taste like cardboard. I’m so petrified it won’t go away after my son is born. Anyone else have it?

I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 13 weeks I'm on insulin and Metformin

Most of the time it's just temporary. So that is a good thing. I hope you guys the best. I've never had it but I know people that have had and I know ain't easy.

I have low sugar so when I did mine my test came up at 70

Yep I have it. Had it with my first and now with my third. There are plenty of great foods to eat. Keep blood under 140 and you (and baby) will be just fine.

I have it!!! It sucks, but it's definitely manageable. The key is to get high protein lots of veggies & low carbs babe! You got this. Only like 6% of people continue to have it after. 10 years later around 50% but as long as you live a healthy lifestyle you shouldn't have to stress. Good luck

It is manageable but even if insulin and Metformin and diet you're still having issues it's not your fault unfortunately some people with gestational diabetes have a very hard time controlling their sugars even with medication I am 16 weeks into my journey with gestational diabetes at this point and mine is still not controlled it's not your fault it's not the end of the world my son is still growing really healthy

Look into keto. It’s a low carb, high protein, & high fat diet. Carbs are what turn into sugar. There’s some really good foods with it.
