Potty training

Today’s day four of potty training my little girl and I still feel like she’s not catching on to it. She knows what the potty is and doesn’t have a problem sitting on it she just isn’t telling me when she needs go. I need advice on if I’m looking to much into it? We use a sticker board for when she just sits on the potty and her favorite treats when she actually uses the potty and doesn’t go in her undies. Any advice is so welcome… Picture of my girl for attention

I just went through this a couple of weeks ago. This is my son’s first full week with underwear during the week but it took weeks for him to ask for the potty. No idea why he finally started but the morning he did he ask 6 times for breakfast was over lol. I started off giving chocolate chips but I don’t even do that anymore. I think it helped at first. When it was time for him to potty I would ask him to say “I have to potty please” as we walked to the potty. Also letting him be as independent as possible (if he wanted to be) helped too. I let him turn the lights on himself, get on the potty. Pull his clothes up and wash hands by himself and he enjoys that.

I think the idea that it takes a few days is false and that the average kid needs a lot more time to fully train. My Nov 21 baby won’t tell me. She does well if I enforce the potty but otherwise she could care less. I’m learning to be patient with her!!

I took my son out with his underwear only (threw away diapers) and he peed in public by accident a few times but he felt sooo uncomfortable and realized peeing in the toilet isn’t so bad lol
