Catheter Removal

Hi everyone, I had my catheter removed about 4 hours ago and still haven’t been able to go for a pee. Just wondering if there’s any tips to speed this along as I really don’t want another put in?😊

Drink tea or room temp water goes through your system quicker

Lots and lots of water.. that really helped me. I was also suggested to have apple juice.

Lots of water

My nurse told me to drink diet Pepsi. I'm not sure why but that's what she recommended.

Same thing happened to me Took me almost 6 hours and I wanted to go soooo bad but I just couldn’t Keep drinking water room temperature

So I pretty much drank so much water my body had no choice but to remember how to release, I was able to go within 3hrs

thankyou everyone! i managed to go with literally like 5 minutes to spare before the bladder scanner came to me! It took 6 hours! x

This happened to me after my C-section and one of the nurses took me to the bathroom and turn the sink on with running water and immediately I was able to pee. Try it and see

It took me ages to go as well after the catheter was removed, the midwife kept bugging me during the night to go and my little one wouldn’t settle that first night and was on my own too! I just drank so much in the end and it’s seemed to work!

Lots of water and peppermint tea. You really have to force it down you even if you dont want it. Just keep drinking the water and the pee will come. I had 2 sections and both times i was determined to pass my pee tests to get home the next day so i drank drank drank (and im really bad for drinking normally). Then hold it for as long as you can, only go toilet when you really start to feel the need to.

just drink lots and lots of water also i drank orange and apple juice too

I had a hot chocolate, then sat on the toilet and ran the tap. It’s more of a mental battle, telling your brain you can wee it’s hard but try and keep relaxed as much as possible! I have my fingers crossed for you!
