Does this sound OK?

I'm making my son's party invitations: "Gifts not necessary, but appreciated. Looking for suggestions? (QR code)"

It's a link to an amazon registry. In my husband's culture birthdays 1-7 are really big and they tend to get lots of presents and money. This was how we could direct his family to getting gifts our son would actually play with.

I love amazon links cause theyre sooo helpful. My family does this for every gift giving event.

@Gianna my husband thinks it's weird to put on invitation

I’d maybe say “ideas” rather than “suggestions”, but otherwise I think that’s fine 😊

@Sophie I added ideas/

I think it’s a good idea 👍🏼

That’s perfect

Honestly, I’d love to have that on an invite I received. I just went to a birthday party for a kid and had no idea what to get or what she already had. A QR or link would’ve been awesome.

Put into chatgpt cuz it’s worded weirdly IMO

I love when there is a registry! Makes my life so much easier

I think people actually appreciate having a list to go off of! They might not buy directly from the registry link but they would definitely use the items as a guide if they planned on getting a gift! I don’t think it would be seen as offensive by any means

@Parker 又 there are so many places that sell the items cheaper. I told my sister that if she were to get something, to check at walmart first and just let me know if she gets it so i could remove it

@Ellie I think there’s a different registry site that lets the guests on your list that you share the registry with mark it off at bought on their own! (They click it as bought & type when where they got it from) I’ll see if I can find it I think it was babylist tbh but I don’t remember 100% (just a thought on convenience on your end lolol)

Actually… I don’t think it’s weird at all. I put a QR code on my girls invitations because we’re very picky about what my baby needs or toys we use that if anyone gifts something we won’t use, it will literally end up at the good will and they’ll waste their money. Yet it still happens anyway… so just put it on there. It’s 2024…

I wish they all had this!! Who actually ever knows what gift to get a child that isn’t theirs 🙃. And if they want to get something different, they can

@Haley this!!! I hate to think when I don’t have to.

Love this x I think it should be done more often there is so many times that I'm stuck for gift ideas , baby shower ideas etc it's not common in the UK - atleast with everyone I know and makes present picking extremly hard to a point I do call parents asking if they need anything specific 😄😄 I have also gotten toys that we already have or x2 < eg we got a walker for little one and she also received one as a present for her 1st bday > we were grateful but she didn't play with it more then once/twice .

@Anna my son got a walker for his first birthday. He had already been walking for a month and a half

@Ellie exactly !! QR codes should be on every invitation ! 😊
