Tips for potty pooping

Hey ladies, any tips to get a reluctant potty pooper to let go?! He’s doing really well with wees on the potty & toilet but he keeps saying he doesn’t want to poo on it or doesn’t need it. Multiple dirty pant accidents today and I can tell he does really need to properly go (“tummy owee”) Have tried a reward chart, relaxing on the potty watching tv, blowing bubbles to keep it fun etc but he’s really withholding on us 😩

We took a slow approach - so ….he did his first poop on the potty when i was making dinner and he was in the living room (felt like winning the lottery)- think he wanted privacy lol - also - we’re still not potty trained outside - or quiet time/ bedtime - so he just goes naked waist down while at home and can’t pull down pants yet - and poops as and when he needs - tends to be when im not there though - im thinking your little one might associate his pants with a nappy and needs to get used to pooing on the potty first - before he can coordinate feeling the need to go - getting to the potty and taking his clothes off???

Here for answers too, mine is fine with wee’s, can hold it while we’re out, pull pants etc but just will not poop on the potty or toilet. Won’t even consider having an “accident” in his pant. We went 10 days of potty training and only had 3 poos! We’ve had to let him wear a nappy an hour before bed every day now so he has a chance to go as I was worried he was going to do damage holding it all in

@danielle thanks this is a good idea, skipped to pants to get him comfortable with them for nursery, but more pant free time at home def worth a go!
