Toddler aversion to potty

So we started potty training at about 6 months or so, and we were doing great catching all poops and 90% of pees even going through the night dry often by about 1 - however now she is 17 months and will tell me she needs potty, even bring it to me, and then run off 😅 meaning by the time I've caught her it's too late! Is this just a developmental toddler thing? I feel like we were doing so well up until a couple of months ago and now we can go a couple of days at a time without catching anything 🫠

Maybe she is ready for the next step in independence? Start learning how to pull down pants? Or how to sit herself down on potty? Just shooting off the hip as my girl is only 3 months so I have ways to go and many lessons to go through.

U agree. Whenever a new issue comes up and we start having misses. It means she wants the upgrade. Mine is 16months and teaching her how to do the underwear. I taught her how to sit on her potty herself and that eliminated all misses. But she currently can't pull undies down so she's been bottomless. But lately she's been obsessed with underwear. All that to say. What would be next step for you and your daughter?

Hey thank you for your replies @Tina and @Jade I think that would make sense, she was naked earlier and brought herself over to the potty to go by herself, however very often she just pees on my floor and I'm sick of shampooing my carpet 😅 I will give this some consideration !

@Heather good luck!
