How do ovulations sticks work?

I’ve got the digital ovulation sticks that show the happy face when you are ovulating - how long is the ovulation valid for, does it mean I should have sex right away or can it be later at night also? Not sure how it can tell if I’m still ovulating

I believe they all test for lh which is a hormone that is released prior to ovulation (I think) so you’re supposed to ovulate like 12-24 hours after you peak so tonight, tomorrow morning, maybe even tomorrow night you should be good to go!

Basically once you get the smiley face your best chance is within the next 24hrs. I always used the digital Clear Blue sticks

I’m trying to figure that out too I have the clear blue but not digital

Also my positive ovulation tests are faint positives

Am I supposed to have dark lines just before ovulation?

For the clearblue digital, once you get the solid/static smiley face, you will no longer be able to test for 48 hours because it has detected your peak/positive ovulation. You will ovulate within 24-36 hours after the solid smiley. So once you get your solid smiley, have sex that day and the next day. Usually, when I get the blinking smiley face, i start having sex then just to try to increase chances. Hope that helps.
