Diabetes in kids
So i had my son nearly 2 years ago and had GD, it completely disappeared once he arrived and i didnt have it on my checks or follow ups and neither did my son but im constantly worrying incase in the future he'll get diabetes and id feel absolutely awful about it. Has anyone got older kids and has it actually happened to anyones children?

No my son isn't having any checks, ive not see anything to say there is a risk but i know someone that had GD and their son found out they had diabetes at 8, im probably just over thinking, it just worries me
I think diabetes as a kid is either genetic or random as it would be Type 1 and gestational is a type 2 so not related though the symptoms are the same. So nothing to worry about as it's not going to be linked x
Children of mothers with gestational diabetes are at higher risk of diabetes I just wasn't sure if I was missing getting her tested, thank you.
@J I heard it was type 2. I thought type 1 was more genetic or random
