FET diet - success stories

Hi all Overall I have a good diet, I probably eat a bit too much sugar like sweets/ cakes but I’m a healthy weight, exercise have been trying to cut out sugar as much as possible Just wondering anyone during the TWW ate whatever they fancied and got a positive? I’m panicking I’ve been eating too much sugar during the TWW but I’m exhausted and keep reaching for it! X

Yeah. I ate what I wanted, drank coffee (under the 200mg limit) ate cold foods and drink (milkshake (&McDonald’s) straight after transfer) I had take aways. I just followed the eat like you’re pregnant rule eg no alcohol, no soft cheese etc. but otherwise I ate what I wanted. (I don’t eat too unhealthy, but I do like a treat) and she is now 1yr old. Honestly, you’ll be fine; have a treat and relax. Best of luck. It’s all down to the embryo. So if it doesn’t work, don’t think it was because of what you ate. A lot of what you read online is just old wives tales and circumstantial evidence. People do heroin and meth and get pregnant. The TTC community really piles the pressure on vulnerable people unnecessarily at times.

@Danielle thank you for that Danielle it’s so reassuring to know isn’t it. I totally agree there’s so so much pressure when really it’s just a chance game isn’t there! I’ve been through the whole strict cut out everything and it didn’t work so I’m really trying to relax more with this one xx

I’ve had 3 transfers, one chemical, one missed miscarriage and one baby. I didn’t change anything between the 3. It honestly is just the embryo. And if anything I was most relaxed with the 3rd transfer (until I was pregnant and then worried terribly about losing it, but she is here and perfectly healthy) We have 3 left in the freezer and hoping to do a transfer in a few months.

First transfer I went overkill trying to do everything right and I had a MMC. My RE was very much that diet changes are unlikely to change the outcome so I relaxed more for the 2nd one. Ate mostly healthy but had snacks, desserts and my morning coffee and it resulted in my now 3 year old. Did the same for the transfer that resulted in my 1 year old. This process is hard enough, don’t stress about indulging in treats 🫶🏻

@Christin thank you for that input it really helps and congratulations x

I didn't change anything, still enjoyed coffee and even wine! Got pregnant on the first transfers with my daughter and then son. Tried for baby #3 recently, first transfer failed. Was shocked but clearly was too optimistic from previous experiences. Gave up A LOT of "things" with my second transfer and it still failed. So... proof that as mentioned above, it really is about the embryo and not so much what we are consuming.
