Potty Training

How do u know when your toddler is ready to potty train? Mine keeps taking off his diaper and will “push” when I have him sit on the toilet. He knocked on the bathroom door one time when someone was using it and then pooped after and grabbed at his diaper to let me know. Also how do I begin potty training when he’s ready?

I’ve heard that jumping is can be a sign of read to potty training and when they have clean diapers in the morning for a while it is also a sign, let him naked and help him when he wants pee or poo. I nurse told me to not say anything besides of “we pee at the toilet” and direct him to toilet or potty and do not make faces as well. Talks to him and ask if he wants to pee or poo

@Michele how interesting! He’s just recently been able to jump. And woke up this morning in a clean diaper. Thank you for the tips!

Isn’t it! That means he’s brain is connecting with his kidneys. Good luck and be patient accident will happen for sure

Sounds like he's ready! Our girl is 22 months, we started potty training 2 weeks ago and she's doing great. I give credit to the book we read "Oh Crap! Potty Training" by Jamie Glowacki. Highly recommend

I started last month because my toddler was doing similar things. It went well and I used the Oh Crap Potty Training method as well. I also used a baby Bjorn potty. And the My Carry Potty is a great travel potty

I e just done mine and stayed in for 3 days with no nappy or trousers on and prompted him but tbf he had no accidents and was going without prompting and did that for 3 days and then tried going out to restaurant with just trousers no nappy and just kept asking if he needed weewee and no accidents 👌🏼I’ve been very lucky 🙏 no poos yet though bit they will come I guess 🤔good luck ,it’s not as bad as you think x
