Copper iud

If you’ve had a copper iud. What has your experience been like? My gyno suggested the iud since I’m struggling to lose weight. They also suggested for me to take ozempic and birth control at the same time but I don’t want to do that. Is it me or is everyone now pushing ozempic to lose weight instead of trying a different type of pills?

I had the paraguard and it was terrible.. The cramps and bleeding were so intense on my periods, it was the worst I've ever felt. However, I had the Mirena for 13 years and I loved it, best Bc I've used.

I had a great experience with the copper iud. Had it for 6 years and was able to get pregnant 2 months after getting it removed. Cramps were worse for my first few periods after getting it, but not unbearably so and they were back to normal by the 5th or 6th one. I didn't have any acne, weight gain, or big hormone fluctuations. The experience is SUPER person-dependant. You just have to find what works for you
