We stayed at home for 1 week in April and kept our son naked. We got him to set a 30 min timer on our phones and every time it went off we got him to sit on the potty. We are British and our son LOVES Cadburys Buttons (small chocolates) so every time he successfully peed/pood in the potty he got a button. He got the hang of pees really quickly and we had hardly any accidents in that first week. Poos however took a few weeks to master as he just wanted to poo in his underwear. Even now, whenever he hears that timer sound on my phone he automatically runs to the potty hahaha We got his daycare provider to also do the 30 min timer with him for about 2 weeks until he fully mastered it.

@Kerry what are you putting him in when he goes to daycare? Diapers, pull ups, training underwear ?

@Asha Underwear. Just regular underwear. We took him to the shop and made a big deal about 'big boy underwear' right before he started potty training. He picked out some cool designs and loves his underwear. Since April when we trained him he hasnt had any pee accidents in his clothes. He did take a little longer with poos and for a few weeks preferred to poo in his underwear. But then one day he just went to the potty to poo and has done ever since. He's even dry at night. We didn't expect that this young but wears his underwear to bed and remains dry in the morning.

I bought absorbable underwear. They only hold about one pee, but this way he could feel he was wet when he had an accident but it wouldn’t get on his clothes or my couch. A lot of people will tell you to stay home and have them be naked 100%, but staying at home was not an option for us. We would have him be naked when we were home but otherwise we would put the absorbable underwear on when we had to go out. He had a few accidents but within 1 week was 100% day time trained.
