Sock shoes vs normal shoes

My boy has started climbing everything and wanting to walk everywhere (assisted), he’s struggling on our wooden floor with slipping when he’s got socks on and I would also like to let him walk round outdoors. Just wondering if anyone has used the sock shoes and whether they are worth getting/which ones are best? Or are we better off getting his feet measured up properly and having proper shoes? Any help or advice appreciated ☺️

Inside better off bare feet & outside you can just put some soft soled pram shoes if you want or just socks. (We do just socks outside & bare feed inside)

I’ll have a look for some pram shoes then, thankyou ☺️

No problem. I’ve always gone to primark or next x

You can get grippy socks too, I bought them for my daughter to wear when she’s at her childminders as she loves to climb and crawl and there’s only tiled floor there 😅 we got loads from h&m for cheap

Matalan have some nice soft sole shoes😊 I’ve seen some sock shoes on shein for like £2 so I think I’m going to give them an order and if they are no good at least I haven’t paid loads for them😊

It’s best to keep them barefoot for as long as possible when learning to walk. We have baby barefooted indoors and outdoors. She loves the different textures underneath her feet and it’s not a problem since it’s so warm currently.

@Alex he has got a few pairs of these but they always seem to slip off his feet 🙈 or he just pulls them off and shoves them in his mouth 🤣

@Chloe that’s good to know, I’ll have to have a look on there! I’m the same, I didn’t want to pay loads for them to be rubbish 🙈

@Katrin yeah I did think this but then it panics me a bit if we’re outside somewhere public like the park incase there’s anything sharp on the floor 😣

@Chloe we just had some of these delivered and really like them!

@Helena ooo thank you, I’ll get some ordered😊

I would find a spot where it’s safe and just let baby crawl, walk and explore there. They are more resilient than we think. So as long as there is no glass or other things where they can get seriously hurt, I wouldn’t worry too much. It obviously will be different once it gets colder and we need to make sure they don’t get cold feet, but in the summer all my kids are barefoot as much as possible including the baby.
