Poop training…literally.

So our daughter will happily do all her daytime wees on the potty or a toilet, no dramas! Pooing however is a completely different situation. She will poo anywhere and everywhere other than the potty or toilet. Yesterday it was a strong, solid number on the patio, this evening a runny, yet vast present left for us on our hallway stairs, yes it’s carpeted! Any tips or tricks on getting a child to know that pooing on the potty is ok would be massively appreciated. Hit me with anything, it’s in your own interest to give me ALLLLLL the advice because the next post WILL include photographic evidence!

Also having poop issues here. At least mine insists on us putting a nappy on her to poop in. I have no suggestions I’m afraid. You are not alone.

Omg!! I am going thru the same

Same 🙋🏻‍♀️

Mine potty trained easily in about 2 days and hasn't had an accident in weeks. Then today, she said she was a dog and purposely peed in the park, wetting her pants, shoes and everything 🤣🤦‍♂️ For poo, could she tell you when she needs to go, pop a nappy on but in bathroom only and sit on potty. I think the idea then is to gradually stop putting the nappy on but just place it in the potty for her to sit on top of and then eventually, won't need the nappy at all.

She won’t tell us per se, because she wants her privacy when pooing. So she just, all of a sudden, disappears, and becomes very quiet for 5 minutes. So we tend to only know after, or during, and that just ends in even more mess because we try get her to a toilet or potty, whichever is closest. Either way, we aren’t winning and I may buy shares in Dr Beckman carpet cleaner because we are keeping him in business right now!

Is she pulling her knickers down to do the poos?

😂 I have never laughed so much. I must say it will be in our best interest to send all the advice we can. Bless you... rewards worked for us. Sticker charts. Constant praise for small achievements and don't be hard on yourself 😍

@Kate if she wants privacy could you encourage her to go into the bathroom and use the potty on her own for a poo and you wait outside/ out of sight. My daughter will regularly lock herself in the bathroom (we keep a coin or the doorframe to unlock it) and will tell me when she’s finished so I can go in and wipe for her.
