Someone said that they won't develop this hormone, which wakes them up if they need a wee, till around 4yo but saying that my LG has been potty trained since February and has been dry since day 2!! On 2 occasions she actually woke up around 4 to let me know she needs a wee then went back to sleep. So we have been nappy free since April I think.
I would cut any bottles or drinksa few hours before bed and we did a double wee which means go for a wee maybe 20 mins before bedtime and just before they get into bed. I was waking up for my newborn every few hours anyway so I would be getting my daughter up and bringing her to the toilet to check. A few weeks of this and she has been dry and would get up herself if she needs to go. People kept telling me it was hormonal but for us we were just consistent at this routine and it’s worked x
Apparently it's actually hormonal when they are ready to go the night without wees. Health visitor said if they go 3 nights in a row they are ready. I know my daughter can go the night but always wees when she wakes up and unless I catch her waking and get to too the toilet fast we miss it. ☹️
I’m not night time training my son His nappy has quite a bit of wee still in the morning where he guzzles water before bed and sometimes during the night I don’t want to limit him on his water at this stage or unnecessarily wake us all up in the night, I just use pull ups and he goes for a wee right before bedtime and right after waking up x
My eldest took 1.5 years after being out of diapers during the day to be dry at night. It’s just about when their kidneys mature and start producing enoguh ADH at night to reduce urine production overnight. Don’t rush it. We found that taking for a pee on the toilet when we went to bed really helped us to know when it was time to start night weaning as if he was dry in the morning after a 10/11 pm pee then he’s basically ready
My LG just did it herself, I didn’t train her, I’ve been told it’s a hormonal thing, just very lucky it kicked in early for her, I think it’s the mental attitude they have aswell, my LG didn’t like being wet so she would wake for a wee for the first couple months and then all of a sudden she was able to go a whole night dry, been 8 months now and she we’ve had maybe 3 accidents
I have no idea, but my daughter was staying dry for months. But now has started to wet her nappy 😢 I don't know if the last few weeks she's been drinking more water due to it being hot. It's very frustrating! But I think eventually they will get there, so I'm going to see what happens 🤷🏽♀️
