Owlet smart sock (or similar)

Does anyone have and would recommend one of these? I’m so paranoid and worried about something happening to my baby in the night. How exactly do these work? Just want to know if they’re worth the money really before buying one as obviously money is a bit tight being on maternity leave!

I was reading reviews on these last night online and on TikTok and they have quite a lot of bad reviews giving false low oxygen readings x

I wanted to get it too but as Chloe says there are a lot of poor reviews out there and it's a very expensive system to have so many poor reviews... would be interested if anyone has an alternative they like

I know someone that’s used it and they only had one false reading. I was also thinking about it based on her experience before seeing reviews xx

Have it and cannot live without it. I have not had an issue with it. It saved me from sleepless/worried nights! The first few nights I was still quite new and getting used to it, and being a first time mum! So I was constantly watching the owlet meter on my phone, but after a few days you get used to it. I’ve had 1 “false” alarm due to the owlet not being on properly so it detected low oxygen, had multiple alerts for “disconnections/low battery/cannot read properly” gives me a right old alert but I’d rather have all these alerts than nothing at all! (But as a mother you will always worry anyways! But having this is just an extra sort of support) I do have a friend that had 1 but she ended up selling it as it stressed her out too much reading the owlet meters on her phone. For me personally, no issues.

I have the owlet sock and love it! I didn’t get it until my little boy was around 6 weeks (now 16 weeks) and I wish I had it from the start! I was so worried and anxious and couldn’t sleep properly with constantly checking him but as soon as we bought it I felt so much more relaxed. I love that you can check on the app on your phone, and so far I’ve only had one false red reading but I could see him and it was fine and didn’t panic me as I could tell it was false. It does alert you if it isn’t attached properly but that’s good so it can monitor them. The app tells you heart rate, oxygen levels and also shows their sleep - deep sleep, light sleep and awake. I find this useful for seeing his sleep patterns too! We went on our first date night last night and I could still check the app which made me feel so much better about being away from him for a couple of hours! X

I got the owlet shortly after she was born as I was sat watching her sleep and then only slept when someone else could watch her because I was so scared something would happen but as soon as I got the owlet I could sleep properly. She’s 7 months now and we have only had one red reading which was this week but i think she had her face down onto the mattress so I’m thankful that we have the sock! We got ours from Vinted xxx

We have the snuza hero, really good! I was debating about the sock too but kept seeing bad things about it x

There is another device called snuza hero I’ve been using since my baby was born and it clips into his nappy

I have one. They’re not to be used as sole devices but as an aid. If a false alarm would stress you out then don’t get one but I would prefer to have a back up. That being said, mine was bought from Amazon and currently doesn’t work. I’m in talks with the company (as the light is on but it doesn’t connect to my app) but it looks like I’ll have to return it. I think that I will try another though

@Tereza @Loulou I’ve been contemplating the snuza hero! Would you’s both recommend it? Do you put it under the vests/sleep suits etc of a night? And how does it alert? X

I’ve got the owlet sock and I absolutely love it!! Had it since day 1 and 7 months later still use it every night it’s brilliant. With every piece of technology there can be issues and false readings though, I’ve had 1 false reading in 7 months, so 1 out of 222 times I’ve used it, it wasn’t on snug enough. You always see more bad than good as people are much quicker to complain x

Also I’ve found it really helpful for the pattern of her sleep too, so when she’s in a deeper sleep compared to lighter sleep. Again it’s not 100% science but it’s proven to be great for us xx

@Payten thanks for this. Can you put it on under a babygrow? Do you have the smart sock or the dream sock? X

@Tereza @Loulou not heard of this one! How does it work? X

We were gifted one but never used it and had a bedside bassinet and camera instead

I have the owlet sock. I swear by it, we have had one low oxygen reading but I think it was because we was getting to grips with how to use it properly with my little boy was born and it wasn’t on properly but even so at least it works! But it’s really good I wouldn’t be able to rest without it. We got the owlet camera however I didn’t rate the camera quality so we got an old fashion baby camera to use along side with the owlet sock but I so so recommend it x

Yeah can put it on under a babygrow! I’ve got the smart sock but I think the dream sock is the exact same just newer technology, if I was buying now I’d probably go dream sock!x

We have one and love it. Would 100% recommend xxx
