Holding Urine?

I think we are finally starting to make a little progress with potty training. The only thing I am worried about is that my 3 1/2 year old girl will often go around 4 hours without peeing. Should I worry about this? I can't tell if she's holding it on purpose. I don't want her to get a UTI or something. It also takes her quite a bit of time to relax on the potty before she will finally pee. Any other parents out there have something similar happen with their little one?

Have you tried asking her about it? Like her reasoning, Or just being a reminder for her & asking if she might need to go before it’s been 4 hours?

My kids are both camels and hold it for hours! That's a good sign that she can hold it so long as far as being able to potty train. I don't think 4 hours is UTI territory, but I'm not a doctor so I could be wrong.

I had an issue with my daughter holding also. She held for 8 hours one day, fine the next, then held for 16 hours from the night until the following dinner time. I took her to hospital both times as advised by 111 and there was nothing wrong. She was just holding it. I was worried about a potential UTI also but apparently, it’s common. Just means they are ready. x

Did it get any better over last 2 weeks? I’ve just started my daughter and once she held overnight for 18 hours!

My 3 year old is soo good at holding her wee in she has gone 8am - 6pm before whilst trying to potty train her! I’m currently still trying to potty train her as she won’t go wee or poo anywhere but the nappy! She will wear pants all day and ask for nappy to wee/poo in then removes it and puts her pants back on. Partyly potty trained I guess lol
