We use it depends where we are. Of course toilets are the best to give my LG privacy. But saying that today I had to use it in a photo booth as Asdas toilets were closed. Last week we went to a farm and we used it outside next to toilets as it was a single toilet and the floor was wet.
We try to ideally get to a cubicle. Having said that though recently he was sat on the potty in the boot of our car, as we were out and about! I think anywhere is fine when you are training, as long as it is fairly discreet.
I use ours in both situations! In public and on the toilet floor in a cubicle. I think anything is better than an accident and I don’t want to encourage my LO to ‘hold it’.
We used the my carry potty at the park the other day. If I can avoid public toilets I will but if there’s no where discreet to go like for example after his Hosp appointment the other day I took him to the toilet with it. As for the toilet seat, at this stage I wouldn’t bother. Soon enough your little one will be able to sit on a toilet once they are potty trained so maybe you could get a little insert for the toilet? X
We found out very quickly that my son much preferred using the toilet to the potty so I would just take him to the public toilet instead and use the carry potty in the boot of the car when needed before heading home or when arriving somewhere if there wasn’t toilets. We didn’t use a mini toilet just a usual potty downstairs and the toilet upstairs with steps and one of the toilet seat inserts on top.
I took it in the toilet if there is one around. Except for the first few days of training, I tried to use it literally anywhere but LO never did his business in public 😂
