In my area you go see the midwife 24 hours after discharge. HV once discharged from midwife care
Midwives will usually visit the day after discharge. So if it falls on a Saturday there should be a community midwife that visits on a weekend
I was discharged on Saturday and midwife came on Sunday
I was discharged last week Thursday and midwife came on Saturday. It doesn’t matter the day of the week. Midwife will ring or text you before she comes. If you’re told nothing please ask midwife all the questions. Ask ask ask.
HV comes between day 10-14
I had to go see a midwife on day 3 & day 10 to be discharged. Then we went over to the HV who came to the house for a newborn check up and then a 6-8 week check. I now won’t see one (unless I ask) until 9 months x
Yes midwives work everyday in community
Yes our had to come Christmas Day.
I was discharged on a Friday they came Saturday and Sunday, I ended up back in with sepsis on the Wednesday and out Friday and they came out again Saturday, think it's normal. I did have to visit them on day 5 the day before I went back in and they came out a few times in the following weeks as I was showing signs of PPD, they discharged me from the community midwife after 4 weeks. HV came on day 4 of being at home then again 2 weeks later and haven't seen or heard from her since. Next one is 1 year 🤷♀️
@Laura your health visitor should be out between 9-12 months for a 9-12month check in on the child. Or that's what's I believe. My health visitor said she'll be back out when my newborn is between 9-12month for a check in.
I think it may be different depending on where you live. Have you tried googling it? This is the process for where I live. I think they do visit on Saturdays. https://www.swbh.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/INTRANET-ML4518.pdf
