ECV

Yesterday at 37+2 we found out baby is breech. I really don’t like the idea of an ECV but I’ve booked one in on Tuesday to give it a try. Anyone had a successful one? I’m really dreading it and think I’m going to go in and say if they can easily turn the baby then do it but then if any way they use too much pressure or it’s taking ages I’m just going to tell them stop.

I declined as its only 50% chance hoping she will sort itself out and get in to right position. Hut so far she has managed to surprise me every 3 days

They work about half the time. If at any point you decide you want them to stop, absolutely do speak up. You don’t have to do anything you’re not comfortable with.

I showed up for mine and my baby had turned by herself in the couple of days in-between

Please look on spinning babies website and try natural exercises as much as you can first. My friend (Orthopaedic specialist and now offering help to turn babies naturally), advised me against it as can be painful and I did these exercises and they worked. Where in England are you? She’s in London. If you send your email I can forward the exercise sheet.

I am in the same boat. Am going to give the ECV a go but will ask them to stop if it’s not manageable. 50% is good enough chance of it working for me to try, as I’m keen to avoid a c-section if possible. Good luck 🙂
