Birth plans

I'm almost 29 weeks and I just wondered when do I talk about my birth plans, Is this done with my midwife? I have a midwife next week when I will be 29+3. My next antenatal isn't until 39 weeks. I also have high blood pressure and high BMI

Everyone got a birth plan, being it an idea in your had of "wishing for a swift labour and epidural" or going all natural. Birth plan is mainly for you to sort out your thoughts ans if you put it on paper it is more beneficial. It is also for your birth partner so they know what are your goals and wishes and how to support you. Lastly it is for the team hence why it's good to keep it to bullet points. Focus on the parts Labour Birth After birth and baby The most important thing is to be confident and happy about it and understand whatever choices you make - what are their benefits and risks ❤️ The nhs birth plan I got in the maternity notes is good but not as comprehensive as doesn't cover that much but gives an idea.

My midwife said we have a conversation about it at 36 weeks, which feels late to me. I’m 32 weeks and am planning on writing my birth preferences this weekend. If you’re worried, talk to your midwife next week.

I’m in the same boat as @Lisa I’m 32 weeks and I got told we would be doing my birth plan in 3 weeks time. Which as Lisa said seems a bit late considering anything could happen! But I also plan on getting a template off the internet and putting my plan down in the next few days x

My midwife started the conversation at my last appointment. My antenatal class also covered birth plans, we were advised 3-5 key points of what we want and what we don’t want as it’s easier for the midwives and doctors to read x

My midwife said we'll discuss it at the 36 week appointment
