Potty training & leaving the house

Im the one putting off potty training. Shes definitely ready poos and wees on the toilet and potty at home and asks to go to the toilet can pull pants up and down. Im putting it off as i cant stay in a whole weekend🤦🏻‍♀️ im also really put off by taking her out and her weeing her pants and it being seen and what i do. I have a travel potty but i dont know she’d use it out in public. When you all potty trained were the accidents outside at the shops, park etc? How did you cope? I’m thinking of trying this weekend she keeps asking for knickers not nappies. I know it’s bad of me to put it off but it makes me really anxious about going out with her! Any advice welcome

We had a couple of accidents, but it didn’t bother me, it’s bound to happen. They were mainly on the first day, and I just took loads of changes of clothes. X

I would just take her on short trips out like to the park and see how you go from there

I started potty training a couple of weeks ago. I stayed at home and in the garden the first few days (Thurs-Sun), then she was back at nursery Mon-Weds. By then she wasn’t having wee accidents anymore. By the following Thursday we started venturing out. I take the travel potty if we’re out and about outside (walks or the park), and then just have to go to the toilet lots if we’re out somewhere indoors. She hasn’t had a wee accident whilst out, but did have a poo accident whilst out today and also at nursery a few times as she’s still a bit hit and miss with poos! But we do end up having to make lots of toilet trips for wees, so everything takes so much longer now 🤦🏼‍♀️

I started with the school run, asked her before we went if she needed a wee.. the same day we went out for dinner, went food shopping, back to school. She never had an accident and she never has yet and she's been dry since April. I think your daughter will be fine if she's that confident in the house, I never did the staying in for a full weekend thing, some kids don't need it 🤷‍♀️

Our LO always goes for a wee before we’re out of the door and then, depends where we are, I encourage her to use the toilet available again. She’s not had an accident outside.

We started on Monday and my little girl has been brilliant but her child minder as she has carpets in her house put on a pull up and would just ask every 20-30 mins did she need a pee, this might be an option for you as you don’t want proper accidents. This is fine for me as she is only there 2x per week and until she can control her bladder but in the next few weeks all ask her just to make it her pants so there’s no confusion from pull ups to pants etc x

Mine’s been potty trained 3 weeks now and we didn’t really want to stay in at all 😣😂 so on day 2 we just went out as normal and she had one accident sat in her pushchair and it was no big deal changing her quick 😊 and since then not a single accident in or out the house! We just take the travel potty with us at all times 😂 and always have a few spare pants and outfits in the bag just incase! X
