What’s going on? Dentist won’t take your insurance? No insurance? How bad are her teeth? Is it a timing issue where you need it soon? Or are they just scheduling her much later in the future? UK or USA? Why don’t dentists see her? What did they say?

Where do you live?

I m in UK.Dentist don't accept new patients in this country unless is private and I cabt afford it..I just work that it might get worse..

Dentists don’t accept new patients in your country?! What- how do children end up receiving care. If it’s not through expensive means

Do you need health insurance? Is there a help line for your area to get connected with community resources? Do you have a public health clinic?

I know it's crazy but they don't.. officially they should accept children, but I phoned dozen in my area, and they said they don't have capacity..It doenst work like that I'm UK...

I’m also in the UK - in Scotland there’s something called the Child Smile Programme. A dental nurse comes to visit you shortly before they’re 6 months old to discuss dental care. I kept her number thankfully - then when I couldn’t get registered with a dentist, I texted her and she told me which dentists were taking new patients on - and thankfully I found one to register with. I think it’s definitely easier to get registered in Scotland compared with England. But may be worth asking your Health Visitor if there’s any similar dental nurse available to help you find a dentist?

At Rosa my daughter is 7 so I don't have health visitor but I look into it.

Good luck - hope you find one to register with. If you’re in England (I used to live in the south of England for a few years) I know it’s incredibly difficult to get an NHS dentist. In some areas there’s some liaison between schools and dentists/dental nurses. May be worth asking at the school too.

Good luck, momma!

@Macey there's currently a dental crisis in the uk. Very difficult to get a dentist if you don't already have one.

Incog I think your only option would be emergency NHS dentist

You could try ringing NHS 111 for an emergency appointment or try this link https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/find-a-dentist/ And search for ones accepting patients near u. Don't forget with dentists you don't have to live in the area like u do with doctors, I know it might be a pain to travel but could work until you find one closer to u. Hope u get it sorted. X

At Zoe with emergency they will deal with one problem, she needs a treatment.Last time I took her I almost had an argument with the dentist because she said dentist take chikdren on,I phoned so many they really don't...I left a message with one so I hope they will return my call...

Have you checked with private dentists to see if they do children on the nhs? My daughter is registered to my partners private dentist, but she gets nhs treatment. Follow dentists on social media, I managed to get registered because they announced on Facebook that they were accepting new nhs patients. I'm guessing you've tried further afield? My mum has to travel 2 towns over for her nhs dentist. We are in Scotland though, it probably is easier up here as my dentist is fairly new and they keep hiring new dentists. And we're rural so there is generally just less people up here. Good luck! Xx
