potty training

Day 5 of potty training and I'm about ready to lose my head 🤣 potty was directly behind her and instead she just chose to pee on rug instead🙃 most of the time she will go on the potty but only when not wearing anything on her bottom half otherwise she will just wet her trousers. I'm also terrified to go out of the house as she will just drink all day and then as a result wees A LOT. would it be unreasonable for me to limit her water intake perhaps? for those of you who have successfully potty trained, how long did it take for the accidents to stop (except the odd one that all kids obviously have)?? I've put her back in a nappy at the moment and left her in her bedroom for some respite because it's draining me. TIA!

Following.... we're on week 2 and she took to it so well in the first few days (we used a sticker chart and prizes) she's now poorly and everything has gone out the window

It was probably 3 weeks before accidents stopped, it was almost 5 months at nursery before he was dry apart from the odd accident. I’d limit her water slightly if she’s a big drinker, just try to relax and enjoy the little wins, it is not a few days event. Most kids take longer than a weekend to get it, as it’s such a big/new skill. She’s doing really well, brave and little trip she might surprise you

We tried at Christmas and it was so bad but just did it again starting 3 weeks ago. She got it day 2 or 3 and we haven't had accidents since the first few days. I'm not sure if that's just what it's like when they're truly ready or if we just got lucky
