I have a scan booked at 7+5 and am planning to tell them after that x

I've had to tell my work at 4 weeks as I was already showing and couldn't hide it x

I plan on telling after I have my first midwife appointment (not sure when that is as they’ve not been in touch yet) x

After my first scan, if I didn’t have to tell them I wouldn’t due to the nasty response I got when I had my second MC🙃 You don’t actually have to tell them at all certain point, as long as you tell them before 25 weeks for your maternity pay x

I'm waiting until after my 20W scan just because of the nature of my business/being technically self-employed there's no need to tell them beforehand, but tbh and any other 'normal' job I'd probably tell them after 12W

Check your employee handbook at your job, you have to tell them before a certain week to allow them to arrange mat leave docs etc I think mine was 15 weeks before your planned mat leave starts. I'm going to wait for as long as I can keep it secret lol I hate my manager. If you think you will need more time for scans / appointments or they get funny about time off I would tell them but it's up to you!

Depends what time of job you do. I work in the lab and I’ve had to tell them straight away so they could do my risk assessment. Also if you do call in sick, pregnancy sickness doesn’t count towards your overall sickness.

I told my manager pretty much as soon as I found out, because I had previous miscarriages and if it was to happen again I don't want to have to reveal that I'm pregnant and miscarrying in the same conversation. I wanted to be able to message him and say "unfortunately the worst has happened so I need to go to the hospital" and that's all that's needed for him to understand. I didn't tell the rest of my team until I'd had the 12 week scan, but I wanted my manager to be aware just for the purpose of needing time off
