Success with ivf after recurrent losses

I can’t seem to stay pregnant so my OB recommenced IVF. But I know that also doesn’t mean I’ll be able to carry the baby, has anyone done ivf after recurrent losses and went onto have a healthy pregnancy and baby? Or did you miscarry again? Were they tested? What was your protocol?

Have they investigated why you had recurrent miscarriages? If it’s lack of progesterone it’s just an easy fix. If it’s embryo quality PGT tests could help but they are super expensive and not 100% accurate. If it’s immunological issues ivf won’t help much. Sorry not being very helpful here but I did 3 cycles of ivf only to find out after 3 miscarriages that I had immunological problems. They then put me on steroids and blood thinner and then the 7th transfer (PGT tested normal) was finally successful.

I had many losses before IVF and now have a 1 and 3 year old. My first transfer (PGT tested was also a missed miscarriage) The 2nd resulted in my oldest child. The antihistamine protocol along with a modified natural transfer was what worked for me.

@Wanyu hi!! Yes so I have done all the testing. Genetic, karyotype, clotting disorders, saline sonograms, sperm count/analysis etc. I’m only 28 and have one beautiful toddler. I had one loss before her and then two more since TTC. My progesterone is always in normal range. 22 with my rainbow and my losses. I started progesterone this month just in case and didn’t even conceive. Which kind of made me sad because we always bet pregnant when trying (I guess I’m fertile which is great but can’t seem to keep the pregnancies). Ivf doctor said only thing she can recommend is pgt testing and ivf. But that’s not a good enough answer for me when I know that I still carry the chance of miscarrying again. My next resort would be a reproductive immune doctor.

@Christin hi Christin! Can you tell me about the protocol you’ve mentioned?

Antihistamine is the addition of prednisone, Claritin and Pepcid. The idea behind it is it can help your body to not attack an embryo before it can properly implant in the event your body is having an autoimmune response.

I would highly recommend the book “it starts with the egg” - which tells you how to raise egg quality with supplements and this is what helped me a lot after several losses. Take 3 months to follow this guide would really make a difference I believe! Good luck x

I have 3 miscarriage before falling pregnant and now 26 weeks. I had low progesterone and I have a blood disorder that corses clots and kills the embryo. We then did progesterone injections, progesterone pessaries and took blood thinner and that has help so much for me to stay pregnant. x
