Potty Training at Nursery

Just started potty training my daughter but she doesn’t want to use her potty at nursery, we’ve taken hers in so she’s familiar with it, but that isn’t helping, still early days but if you’ve been in the same situation did you persevere or postpone for a little while?

Keep persevering and would probably recommend just letting her use the potty at nursery as she may not want to use any other potty or toilet and you may have issues when she eventually gets the hang of it. My lil boy was the same. He was having like 4/5 accidents and I just kept sending him and nursery kept telling me to put pants on him from morning rather than a nappy and taking it off at nursery. He would then hold his poo. 2 weeks later now he hates a nappy on and is pretty much nappy free unless it’s bed time but I still make him go toilet before bed and he does wake up more or less dry.

Thanks, ye she uses her potty fine at home, yesterday we didn’t send her potty and she refused the nursery potty so today we though let’s try her potty but not making a difference and think it’s just unfamiliar at nursery, trying to persevere but don’t want her to hold in her wee and get an infection or be uncomfortable, we will persevere for a few more days and see how she does

@Jess I asked my nursery to sit my lil one on the toilet regardless. Every 20/30 mins. She will get used it. My boy was scared of leaving whatever toy and was just distracted. But got used to it. Now that it’s the 6 weeks he has been with the 3 years old so maybe that has helped because he keeps telling me who done a poo at nursery lol

I had this with my little girl, but her nursery don’t do potties and she would not sit on the child’s toilets. They kept trying but she ended up crying when they sat her on it. She would go potty at home absolutely fine though. I pushed back potty training until she was comfortable with the nursery toilet as I thought it would just delay the whole thing anyway - it only ended up being 3/4 until she felt ok with it in the end, . Now she’s fully potty training and goes on the toilet at nursery.
