Nurseries not allowing pottys!?

My son is on day 7 of potty training and has been doing really well at both wees and poos. Only 1 accident at home since day 2. At nursery on the other hand, he hasn't managed ANY on the potty/toilet (he's only been to nursery twice since we started training). I just assumed they'd use pottys as I've no experience with nurseries before, but this one expects them to go straight to toilet! Understandly, my son is refusing. I know some people train straight to toilet but we couldn't easily as we only have 1 toilet, which is upstairs. He's managed 2 wees on there. Anyone else in the same situation?

This is so odd and strange to me. I would maybe request they get a potty, or if not maybe you provide one and bring it in. They shouldn’t have those kind of expectations. My son’s nursery has an emergency potty in the nappy changing area plus a potty in the pre school toilets area.

Our nursery wanted a seat reducer straight away too. They said hygiene reasons to us.

@Katie I've tried. They wouldn't take ours when i brought it in. Apparently it is in the policy! The workers seemed to be in agreement that it's stupid too.😒 had I known this would be issue I would have gone to a different one, but you don't know until you've started training!

We have the opposite issue. Our LO will only go on a toilet!

My son uses both and loves the novelty of a different toilet when out. Hopefully he’ll get there soon.
