You both will need to do some initial tests if you haven’t already, and your consultant will then discuss suitable protocol with you. You’ll then start ivf stims (injections) and under close monitoring to determine egg collection date. Embryo transfer typically happens on day 5 after collection. But everyone is different really so it’s hard to tell you what will happen exactly. My honest advice (after doing 3 ivf cycles) is to stay calm, trust the professionals, and have good communications with your partner. It’s a tough journey and you both need to be prepared for the rollercoaster ride and how to best support each other! Good luck!

The first appointment will be to either order the million blood tests, or if you’ve had them, to go over the results. They will also want recent ultrasound. They might order some more invasive tests like hycosy if they think you have fibroids, endo etc. They’ll want to know your period cycle pattern so it’s good to have that with you.

I’ve had a HCG test, bloods, ultrasound, all come back okay did 6 months of Clomid, Partner has a low sperm count but everything is okay with me I ovulate and have regular periods Hopefully they will just want update bloods re test him and then get us started 🤭 our wedding is in May 🤗xx

Hi Melissa. I did a load of blood tests up front then once all results were back and we were ready to go I had a prep month where I was on essential birth control and something else, and then the stimulation period. Also depends if you’re under the NHS or going private. If going private it’s a far more thorough process. They give you a lot of info up front and it didn’t realise make a lot of sense until I was going through each stage so I just took each step as it came. Best of luck to you both!

Just wondering if you have had your first appointment yet. Ours is booked for the 9th and wondering what to expect x
