Postpartum birth control

Just curious about other people's opinions/experiences on the various forms of birth control after birth before youre ready to try again. My husband and I want another baby, but obviously not immediately. We're planning for at least 18 months before we try again. I got a mirana IUD in 2016 and had it until we decided to start trying. I had no negative experiences except getting it in and out were not particularly comfy. I don't want to do the pill, because I have ADHD and I tend to forget daily medications unless I'm taking my stimulant, which I'm not doing while I breastfeed (no judgement to those that do, just my choice). So that leaves me with getting another IUD or the implant. Curious what other people's experiences are with either after birth/ between pregnancies.

The implant you need to make 100% sure it goes in. The needle is rather big which can create blood pooling and a lump. With mine they thought it went in but it was just the blood pooling and didn't know until I got pregnant again approximately 3 months after birth. I wasnt aware i was actually pregnant until 5 to 6 months into it. I'm due a few days after my sons 1st birthday

I have had the implant for year and a half which have just been a nightmare. Took about a week for my arm to feel comfortable again and the bruising to go away. I had to start estrogen pills because my cycle became crazy heavy all the time. Currently taking two forms and feeling pretty wired at all times

I've been on the depo shot for 3 years. Some say it makes you gain weight but I haven't gained weight

After my first baby I was on the birth control shot you take everything 3 months (depo-provera) the doctor said it would make me gain major weight and it did. I gained about 30lbs on it. Now I’m on the implant it’s a small rod shade that goes in your arm and it’s suppose to work for up to 5 year. My doctor promised I wouldn’t get pregnant on it and if I did she would take care of my baby lol I love that type of insurance.
