@Kia that's good to know. I'm scared of the period part as I'm one that always had horrible cramping and was a pretty heavy bleeder. But I don't think my body can take another round of hormonal birth control or another pregnancy. My husband offered to use condoms and we did but I just can't get into it as much that way.
@Alyssa yea after my second I, the same as you, didn’t want to go on anything hormonal I just don’t like it so we agreed to use condoms, and that’s how I got pregnant again because once your used to not using them it’s definitely not preferable
I've had It 2 times now. Once after my first born who is 5 and my youngest who is 2 . I love the copper IUD due to it not having the hormones. Once my husband and I agreed to start trying for our second it didn't take us long to become pregnant. I love it because you don't have to wait for all those hormones to be flushed out and gone. I have it now and eventually will take it out to try for another.
I just had mine removed after 1.5 years with it. My review is mixed: I didn't know it hurt to be inserted and sometimes on removal. (For me only the insertion, not removal. Insertion: I was cramping and bleeding and took 15 minutes in the waiting room, before limping home. Then a few weeks of not bending over without getting cramps. For removal: I took Tylenol before and I had very mild cramps) I wasn't told about the pain or cramps being involved at all. Somehow that part was missed in my initial research. But we had no issues with pregnancy or anything. But also have used previously, condoms successfully too. 2.5 yrs of only condoms, and we're going back to them.
I just had three back to back to back pregnancies. My husband and I can’t seem to miss! I got it at my 6 week postpartum check, I haven’t had it long yet as my youngest is 5 months but so far I love it and it’s working. I have always had very light periods minimal to no cramping. I still don’t have cramping so it didn’t change that but I bleed like crazy
