Alexander! I've also had a student named Xander if you wanted to shorten it. But I love that it's your perfect nickname, a connection to close family, and more of a traditional name.
Zander
Zane? Rezan?
I personally wouldn't use Alexander because of Leander. Zaniel & Zannick are both good choices, although I prefer Zannick. There's also Xannon/Zannon & Xanthos/Zanthos that you can nickname Zan.
Zayn
Xander/Zander Zeppelin
@Katie good call! I actually called him and asked to make sure him and his new wife weren’t using it, and it sounds like they don’t intend to use it as a first name
@Laura oooh Zannon! I really like that.
Zander
I feel that Zaniel will get regularly mistaken for Daniel when introducing himself/ completing forms. Zannick is less like other names.
i love Xanthos, with Xan/Zan as a nickname. i guess you could spell it Zanthos, if you prefer. Alexander is nice, but you could also consider Xander/Zander as a full name, with Zan as a nickname. Leander and Xander sound so cute together as brothers, despite the rhyming, and it would mean that your son had a name similar to your brother, but with his own unique twist. Zante Auxano Xannon Xanthias 💙
Could you literally just name him Zan? Doesn’t necessarily have to have a long version if it’s the short version you love!
Zander or Zane

My coworker has a boy called Xander (pronounced Zander) and the nickname Zan works for that. What do you think?
Zander,
I would go Zander. It's super cute with Leander, and if you are going to call him Zan most of the time, then rhyming shouldn't matter much. Leander and Zander are super freaking cute together ❤️
The only reason I would say not to go with Alexander is because that is your brother‘s name and in the future if he has a son and wants a junior, it will be so weird for their to be cousins that close with the same exact name lol my family is going through that now and it’s super weird sometimes just a thought but I like Zaniel that’s different
