Potty training

It really isn't going well, my son gets excited jumps up and down and ends up peeing everywhere and then I try to put him on the potty but he runs off it or when he does pee he misses the whole thing and pees on the floor. It's stressing me out to be honest. But my partner says he's got more patience than me 😂 which is laughable considering he's just told me to put his nappy on after he's getting frustrated more than me. It's actually pathetic. And then he takes out more shit out on me having an attitude. It's also great I'm 32 weeks pregnant, can't be bothered for the stress from him

How old is your little boy? x

@Emily he's 2 x

Ahhh yes, some children can be very not fun with this stage and especially being pregnant I can imagine how little energy you have to be dealing with it 🤦🏼‍♀️

Is there anything that he likes that'll keep him still like reading books or a certain toy he'll just sit and play with (maybe poppets)? I'd try using that to keep him on the potty, and also keep the potty in the bathroom and the door closed so the mess is less anything when he missed or jumps off 😅

I’d say he isn’t ready. I potty trained my eldest at 3, and it took 3 days x

@Emily seems daft to say but I feel pressured, my Mother is trying to push me to potty train him because apparently my brother was out of nappies by the time he was 2. I know every kid is different but I just don't know what to do. I feel so useless x

I tried at 2 and a bit and it was hell. Just tried again at 2 and 3/4 and it took a day. We've only had maybe 3 accidents in total since we started a week ago and she's not wearing a nappy at night anymore either. I'm so glad I waited, I felt pressure to do it but had good advice from parents I know who have older children that it was better closer to 3

35 weeks pregnant and tried to potty train my 2 year old. Decided to stop and wait till he’s older lol. I think my toddler is experiencing too much all at once

@Emily completely agree. I was trained by 18 months fully my brother wasn't ready until he was 3 and then both of us were done within a week for days,nights, pee and poops so I'd say incogs little one isn't ready and needs to wait a bit longer. Incog don't let society pressure you into forcing your child to do something they aren't ready for. Another example is I was walking independently by 11 months my brother was 24 months before he could walk with aid, I was talking by 10 months he wasn't talking until he was 3.5 years old, so all children do their own things in their own time I really wouldn't pressure yourself and them to meet milestones they aren't ready for

Awww my mother pressures me to do things too, it's mostly about the blw, she wants me to just feed my 7 month old purees even though she's already been eating finger foods for over a month 🤦🏼‍♀️ You just need to be strong and put your foot down, if he's not ready, he's not ready and you can try again another time

Don’t let her pressure you! My MIL tried to pressure me but I ignored her 😂 wait until your little boy is showing the signs. Honestly, there’s no rush as pushing him to it when he’s not ready, won’t work and he’ll end up fearful of the potty! It is honestly best to wait till they’re ready x
