Yes , they still have to allow any pay rises to go through and be added onto the maternity pay

Yes, we had a backdated pay rise when I was on mat leave in 2022 and I received it x

Wel get it in Sept pay most likely and will be back payed from April this year x

So glad I opted out of pension while on maternity leave . I remember the last time we got back dated pay , it bumped a lot into the next pension bracket and some came out worse than what they normally do 🙈

@Ali I opted out too! I'd been victim to being upped into the higher bracket when we got the COVID bonus lol 🤣 so wasn't letting it happen again x

It depends how far into maternity leave you are… it the pay rise affects your qualifying weeks (17-25) then it should be readjusted… if not the pay award will be applied and you’ll receive the new rate when you start annual leave or return

Sorry to jump on this post, is this for NHS England or will Scotland get this aswell?

@Nicola this is England, Scotland usually get more as the pay is higher

@Emma your maternity pay will be recalculated to take in account the extra money . Anyone in maternity leave is treated the same as if they aren’t on maternity leave It’s on the gov uk website You don’t wait till you’re back to work to get the new hourly rate

@Ali I said it would readjusted, but does have something to do with qualifying weeks too. It’s Increments that don’t kick in until you return!

@Emma great thanks

Will we still get it if on SMP?
