Does anyone manage to put any money away in savings?

I feel like I’m living pay check to pay check. I would say I have a decent wage, had a significant pay rise but it still doesn’t help. Bills get higher and higher. Hardly any money leftover. Now relying on my credit card. Is this what everyone’s going through?

I am and it’s very stressful 😢 hoping when these free 15hrs come in for nursery, things will get a bit easier!

It’s definitely tough! We’re living off one full time minimum wage and a small bit of universal credit to top us up. Been paying off credit cards for a while… hoping I can finish paying off this month then start saving 100 a month after that 🤞🏼im good with money but it’s tough!

Have a look at where your money has actually gone last 2 months, look at your statements, any unnecessary spending? Can you find any better rates for bills? Obviously no gas/heating this time of year, switch to any colder meals to reduce need to cook? Cut any subscriptions that aren't being used? Are you meal planning? If you can't really cut spending then you might need to work on a better paying job (a tough gig as a working parent!) or if you have a partner can they increase income? Or can you find time to study one of the free Skills Camp/Google Certifications to find a better paying role? I enjoy Financielle, The Financial Diet and Caleb Hammer on YouTube :) they all talk about how risky credit card debt can be, especially when it's being used to top up wages. Definitely recommend them. Also, I'm not saying this to suggest you're not doing enough. It's a cost of living crisis and you're not alone. But you can only improve what's in your control.
