Price is different for different ages but application can take a while so I’d apply now if you can, it’s a prepaid card and you can use it most places on food and essentials basically only thing you can’t buy is alcohol xx

@Holly wait I can buy food. Mine only works on fruit and veggies and milk. Doesn’t even work on long life milk

@Luana what age is your wee one? I dunno if there’s restrictions before baby is 1 xx

@Holly he’s turning 2 in September

That’s so strange!! My wee ones the same and I can buy mostly everything except alcohol xx

I get a prepaid card, I have a 3.5 year old and 16 month old and get £34 every 4 weeks for them. I’m also pregnant and get £17 every 4 weeks up until baby is 1 year old. They say it’s for fresh fruit, veggies, milk, vitamins and things like that. However I use it off my whole shop. I had been using online delivery so couldn’t use it for that, so had saved up a lot over the few months and have used it for my whole food shop today which included meat, toiletries, snacks, veg, fruit and some baby clothes. X

Never mind I am talking about something different I think?? Best start foods?

@Holly will I be able to apply now even though I’ll still have pay from work?? And is it they just top it up with a certain amount a week?xx thanks for the info

you can only apply for it when you are recieving UC, income support, jobseekers and some other benefits x

@katie so I do recieve universal credit as I only receive a small amount from work, would I be able to start claiming them now?x
