Ovulation

My cycles are a mess. I’ve been TTC for a couple years. Never get positive ovulation tests. Last month however I got my first ever static smiley! It wasn’t till cycle day 31! This month I’m on 32 and still just a flashy, and it’s been that way for over a week now … I normally use the strips too and get something albeit not a “peak” but they’ve literally been like “dead” this whole cycle. It’s really weird like they’re broken they’re completely and totally blank?! Anyone ever had this. I’m so confused.

@Shannon very :(

Sorry girls, it can be so confusing. I was the same in the past but my life completely changed when I got a Mira fertility tracker. In my opinion, ovulation strips are totally useless and don’t give you a clear picture. My husband and I were killing ourselves trying to bd every day around what I thought was my window and turned out I was ovulating way later. We got pregnant on the first go with Mira, having only bd literally once that month when ovulation was pinpointed exactly. It is pricey and a bit of an investment but so worth it. If your cycles and ovulation are confusing you, it’s like an actual godsend.

Really? I just feel I have spent sooooo much money on this and I feel like nothing is working and will this just be more money down the pan? I did natural cycles for around £80 a year because it was so highly recommended and it’s never worked for me either :(

I have also done NC and a million different types of gadgets, strips etc. Mira analyses your hormones with lab grade accuracy. I wish I just invested in it the first place and spent all the other money on something else lol

Hmmmmmm you are tempting me. My husband will have a fit though at the price 😂 I’m willing to try anything. Does it work on long cycles though? I’m averaging 34-44 at the minute

Yeah mine are long as well, 35-39 days. I have PCOS and I can compare my readings with other women with PCOS/irregular cycles which is helpful. I got the device second hand off Vinted. Occasionally you can find one on there or ebay. I know the price can be offputting but it definitely takes the stressful guesswork out of the process. I can honestly say it has completely eliminated any confusion and frustration for me and we know exactly what happens when which is priceless.

In terms of wands, I’d just stock up on the Fertility Max (purple ones) for the first month. That will give you a clear picture of whats happening. I wouldn’t track FSH (ovum yellow wands) unless you identify an issue with ovulation via your LH/progesterone results. You can also find people selling wants online from time to time but Mira does offer discounts on a regular basis too.

There is one on vinted now for £180 but no wands included …. Is that a good price ? (Sorry you’ve become my go to) 😂

180 is a bit high i think for second hand. I got mine for 100. On mira website you can get the device with a box of wands for 240 at the moment. No worries, happy to help x
