Hello! Afraid I don't know the answer, but wanted to send a little reminder that it's your choice what you do with your body and you don't have to explain your decisions to anyone. Hope it goes OK xxxx

@Ema because me and my partner aren’t in a well off place to be able to give another child everything that they need and it would be extremely selfish to bring another child into this world that we would not be able to do that for end of the day it’s our decision and people may not like or agree to it but I want to be able to give my children 100% and that’s the least they deserve

@Sally thank you so much! I knew there would be judgments but like you said it’s my body my choice xx

@Ema I don’t expect you to understand at all I had a miscarriage myself in February and we tried everything in our power not to get pregnant again I was on the copper coil and got pregnant this was something I never said I would ever do but here we are like I said I want to be able to give my children 1000% but I can’t and it would not be fair on this child to be brought into a world like that

I took the tablets and passed it a few hours later. The sickness stopped a day or two later completely, during which time I was recuperating anyway. Were you given an option for a medical termination? Be prepared, the tablet route, unfortunately, hurts.

@Lauren no no option for a medical just the tablets I just wasn’t sure how long it took for the sickness to stop but thank you!

@Ema Regardless of the original posters reasons, your disagreement does not require vocalisation. Even if the reason was simply being they do not wish to birth a child, it would be adequate and legal reason. Your subjective, anecdotal response does not help OP with their question.

I was experiencing morning sickness with mine when people were cooking eggs in the work kitchen. When I returned two days later it had gone completely. You and your reasons are valid. 🫶

@Ema I’m not sure why you chose to comment on this. At the end of the day it’s her body, her choice and it’s no one’s business why they have come to that decision. It might have been different for you but it’s not the same for everyone.

@Lauren thank you so much lovely! X

@Madeleine I agree, her body her choice. I asked a question and she chose to reply . It is as simple as that! If anybody can comment just to give their support of her decision, I should also be able to ask why.

@Madeleine to be honest tho your damed if you do and damed if you don’t I’m sure if I went along with this pregnancy and then came on here saying how I couldn’t do this and that for my child and they were struggling ect I would get much hate for that as well people just don’t look at the bigger picture!

It’s so difficult. Take care of yourself lovely, you don’t have to justify your decision to anyone. Hope everything goes well ❤️

@Madeleine thank you so much! Xox

I had a surgical abortion (not the same I know) but I was told to give it a day or two for my hormones to settle down and it'd stop - lo and behold they did! I had mine with BPAS and they were really wonderful, their website is full of useful info and resources and it really helped me feel more confident and comfortable with what was happening ❤️ https://www.bpas.org/abortion-care/aftercare-support/

Appreciate a couple of others have shared their experience. I also chose to terminate a pregnancy a couple of years back (at home) for similar reasons. Without trying to scare you it’s not the most pleasant experience. Though I did feel relief from the sickness and nausea the following day and just felt a little physically and emotionally tired. I hated my choice for a long time but always knew it was the right thing for us at the time. Thinking of you 🫶🏻

You’ll start bleeding a few hours after the first tablet. Be prepared for very painful kind of contractions. If they provide you with codeine , take it don’t hesitate. And well…. I had an abortion too. Now I have another baby with a different partner, and I still think about it sometimes. Not with regret, pain, sadness or guilt…. But I do

@Fátima thank you! I must admit I’m a little scared I won’t be able to get pregnant again after but hearing your experience has reassured me a bit! It’s never an easy decision but I think it takes a strong woman to make it! ❤️

@Kirsty thank you! X

@Jade thank you! ❤️

I will say, it is EXTREMELY painful. I wish someone had told me because I was ready to go out to try and distract myself (I’ve got a child now) and i honestly compare that pain to childbirth. Set yourself up a little TLC kit, hot water bottle etc. Hope everything goes ok💗

@Bex🫶🏼 I’ve had a previous miscarriage do you think the pain would be like that? Xx

The tablets invoke contractions which mimic labour. Depending how far along you were when you had a MC and if you required medical intervention will vary the answer - but in my experience it hurts more. I do not regret my decision and I chose the tablet option and I stand by my choice, but it does feel like contractions and labour. Take it slow, deep breaths, get yourself set up in your bed for rest afterwards - you’ll know the moment you pass it and the pain stops. My aches began and about an hour and a half later contractions were in full force and two hours later it was over. Also as a side note, I’m now pregnant and ticking along nicely. We struggled to conceive, but that has not made me ever wish I acted differently. It was not the correct path at the time and I respect the decision I made then.

Asking for the reason why it's completely out of order and it makes me so angry!

@Lauren thank you so much for sharing your experience! How were you the day after the second lots of tablets and the worst had passed x

@tati did slightly annoy me too

Physically I felt fine, a bit achey like a heavy period but mostly just emotionally/ physically drained. All the adrenaline and hormones that were flooding your body will begin settling down/ have settled and you’ll be fatigued, maybe a bit weepy. Plus your decision may have been weighing on your mind for a few weeks, so be kind to yourself and allow processing of the experience. I took two days off work and stocked up on a hot water bottle, chocolate, snacks etc and allowed myself to just cocoon for two days with some painkillers and goodies and everything was fine.

@Lauren thank you so much! Really reassured me loads I am so nervous for it but you’ve really helped!

To clarify… two days on top of the day of the final stage of actual tablet insertion. From memory I think I took the first lot of tablets orally, then returned a few days later for the next lot of tablets which had ti be inserted vaginally. I then passed the embryo later that day, then had an additional two days afterwards. Three days in total. Physically I would have been fine for work, emotionally less so.

@Lauren yes that’s what I meant after the tablets were put in after that day I have a family event the day after and difficult to say no to it so just wanted to know if I was just sat down would I be okay

@Lauren I’ll also be 6 weeks almost 7 at the time not sure if that makes a difference on how bad it will be

Todays the day girls they moved my appointment forward and I am so nervous I’m ngl! 😅

good luck!! it obviously won't be fun but you've made the right choice for you and that's the most important thing ❤️I hope you start feeling better and more like yourself soon x

Having an abortion does not mean you won’t have babies anymore. You are super fertile right after, same as in pregnancies. Good luck tomorrow ❤️
