Help! Dexus Capital Partners??!!

Hello, I am located in the US but was just accepted for a Customer Service Representative job for Dexus Capital Partners. I can’t find much online about it other than it’s a huge company in Australia. I even went as far as to look up the guy I was interviewing with (over Teams meeting app because of the time difference) and he seems legit. Everything he was saying is what I found online but something in the back of my mind is saying it’s not real. He has said that I am to receive equipment and all in the next coming week. The pay also just seems way too good to be true. I am a mom of 2 (2&6m) and my husband is the only one working. This job would change everything lol. Is there any information that you guys can give me or is this place sketch or what??!!??? I need to know so I can keep looking for a work from home job. I’ve prayed for this and really need it lol

As an Australian, I’ve never heard of them and their website is .com not .com.au so that’s weird

Dexus is a huge company here but not sure about the capital partners part.

@Rebecca i typed it in just now as you have it with .com.au and it took me to the same .com website?

@Liv it says I believe like real estate or investment funding?

The guy I was speaking with is named Adam Innocenzi? Very nice and all his info matched.

Yeah they are a big commercial real estate company here. I know a couple of people who work there let me text them re the capital partners part. I hope it’s legit if it’s a great role for you!

It’s just weird that googling it doesn’t automatically give it an Australian domain. But this Reddit post may be of interest to you: https://www.reddit.com/r/careerguidance/s/2TNkco9ZzY

I’d be proceeding with caution, I hope for your sake it’s real but I’m wary

Dexus are a real company operating in Australia. They are listed on the ASX. However, I would be cautious if they request that you pay for anything “training” or “client” related and offer a reimbursement- that is an outright scam, plain and simple.

My friend that works there was also wary as they don’t go by capital partners. Response below: That sounds very strange! I don’t know what equipment a customer service person would need and also Dexus definitely doesn’t go by Dexus capital partners, that’s not our company name! Also not sure why we’d be hiring in the US when we don’t have an office there.

@Rebecca this is what prompted me to make this post!

@Hannah they haven’t asked me to pay for anything yet. that’s what i’ve been waiting on.

@Liv he said they would send a laptop/computer, printer, headset and light office supplies. the job was listed as a remote customer service job? and that I would be doing data entry and pretty much clerical work.

thank you ladies! I will be doing some more looking and come monday I’ll let you all know if it’s real or not.

Why don't you call the phone number listed on the website and just confirm some of the details or ask to be put through to that guy just to confirm some details so you can make sure the person you called you is legitimately from the company?

@Yas I didn’t think about that until after I got to thinking. Also, I’m not sure if my phone company would charge me for making the call.

@Jordan yes a bit hard if you don't have international calls included in your plan. I wonder if you can call the number from Teams or online so you don't need to pay extra?

Has this guy emailed you, sent you any documentation etc?

teams only had video calls from what I can see. I also looked at the email that is used for his account on teams and when I searched it in google it sent me right back to the company’s website. I will look into how I can call but for now I just have to wait to see what other info they give me.

@Jordan it sounds like it should be legit, but definitely be cautious when sending your personal info. They'll probably need a copy of your driver's license or passport, bank details and other personal details so just make 100% sure before sending those xx good luck, sounds like a great opportunity if it's all above board

Oh definitely! They are supposed to send me equipment but if they ask me for payment or say they are gonna send a check for me to buy the stuff then I definitely will not be proceeding.

@Liv Yes!!! I spoke with them. the guy I was speaking with is trying to insist that he is the real deal and that the job is not a scam. thank you again for your help.

Mummas have to stick together! ❤️

What ended up happening? I am currently being interviewed right now and I just found this thread because the interviewer claiming to be Adam kept spelling australian as australasian??? I am so confused, but I really need the money.

@Sofia Australasian refers to Asia and Australia as a region. Like Oceania. But the screenshot above says the guy is not part of any recruitment process and not to interview with them.

Oh gosh, I had no idea, I thought he was just spelling it wrong

@Sofia It was a scam! I reached out to the company and they emailed me back
