No birthday gift
It was my first birthday after we had our first child . Few days before birthday we had gone shopping for household needs and then he asked me to choose a jewelry for myself for birthday.I said I can’t decide this quick we have a baby to get back to .On my birthday,he got nothing first time ever he got nothing on my birthday.He bout a cake and cooked a nice meal .He said I told you to select something but you didn’t . I felt very sad he got nothing for the mother of his child .Is this normal ?

So he cooked you a lovely meal, bought you a cake and tried to buy you a gift and you refused, he sounds like a keeper! 🥰 why don’t you tell him you’re sorry for not being grateful for the kind gesture at the store and ask if you can go again?
