Travel insurance

I'm 22 weeks pregnant and will be abroad for 5 weeks. What travel insurance have other people used that was good?

Oooh I’m going away at 25 weeks!! I’ve been thinking the same

I just used my bank travel insurance. I rang them to make sure they covered pregnancy which they did. I asked if there was anything I had to do and they said as long as I had no complications and I was fit and well I didn't need to do anything extra. I did have to get a fit to fly certificate from my Dr which cost £25

What country are you flying to, if it's an area covered by the GHIC you may feel comfortable not getting additional medical insurance (you should still have it for all the other bits though). Check with your airline what is needed at your gestation both on the way there and on the way back, you may need a fit to fly certificate so will need to contact your GP or midwife to do this. When looking at policies you need to read the actual wording, a lot of them say "pregnancy is not a medical condition so doesn't need to be declared" then when you look at the wording it says "normal pregnancy or complications from pregnancy are excluded from cover" or something similar. So they won't cover emergency medical care for your pregnancy whilst abroad. So just read carefully
