Occupational Health appt (work)

Hi everyone! I struggle with Hyperemisis Gravidarum and my work have been great in letting me work from home until now. However, recently have asked me to complete an OH appointment. They said it's basically to keep all of us right and not to be stressed. Commute would be 1.5-2 hours due to nature of job in upcoming months and fairly long days.My Doctor has told me they could fully sign me off work if needed, but I'd like to work from home if poss! Any experience of an OH appt or tips? For some reason I'm nervous! Thanks ladies.

I spoke with OH during my first pregnancy and they were really helpful. I had a lot of things on in my personal life and had been off sick for a while. They organised a phased return to work for me, and also recommended to the company that I exclusively worked from home for the 3rd trimester. It's only a recommendation though, and the company can do what they will with it. I am planning on requesting an appointment with them this time round too, as they really listened to me and are impartial with their views. Just tell them how you've been suffering, that the commute isn't manageable. The docs want to sign you off but you want to continue working, however that won't be possible if they insist you go into the office because of travelling times and HG etc. Good luck! X

@Sam this has been super helpful thank you! I had no idea what to expect but hearing you say that they were supportive and impartial will make it a lot easier going into my appointment tomorrow. Thanks so much X

Ah you're welcome. I was apprehensive before too, so totally get it. Just be honest and hopefully they can put something in place to make things work better for all of you xx
