My friend had this. She did ivf and is now pregnant! IVF has a much higher success rate listen to the doctors advice. Stay positive!

Hi-I had a polyp removal Dec 2021 and a bilateral tubal removal in May 2022, and a successful transfer via IVF in Oct 2022 (ended in a miscarriage due to a large fibroid). Hearing about my tubes broke me. I had no symptoms, no history of STD/infection. I went into the test thinking it was just a checked box on the list to move forward with IUI. I took time to process being told they had to be removed and that IVF was our only option. Before my surgery, I cried-it felt like I was losing a piece of me, a piece of hope, a piece of being a woman. It was the hardest part of our 9 year infertility journey besides the obvious of not getting pregnant (and subsequent mc). We’re just about 16 weeks along with a healthy baby boy. I did a ton of research and immersed myself in the world of IVF-I was determined to not let anything get in our way of building our family. Looking back now, I realize everything happened the way it needed to to get us here. All of that worry, pain, sorrow, anxiety,

frustration, all the feels, has been worth it. Hydrosalpinx can cause that fluid to come back into your uterus-causing infection or miscarriage if they aren’t removed. There is no way an egg can be fertilized with blocked tubes and there’s no way to heal the tubes. The surgery for removal was straight forward, the recovery was tough as it is abdominal surgery. You will need someone to help you for a few days-getting up was the hardest. Set yourself up prior and plan to rest! Something that helped me in my second abdominal surgery was not taking the pain meds for as long-my second surgery was a fibroid removal and I was told it would be worse than the tubes!
