If you breastfeed often enough it can be used as a birthcontrol method.im 8 months pp and still haven’t had a period. But you can have false positives with ovulation tests while breastfeeding. If you are wanting to try for another one now and aren’t on any other form of bc I would go for it. After a couple months or so if you’re having trouble getting pregnant I would suggest going to your OB and just having a conversation about it to see if it’s a possibility

So is it possible to get pregnant while breastfeeding or no?

@Courtney yes if you ovulate for the first time you could catch your first egg without having a period before

I have my baby in October as well after a month of no breastfeeding I ended up starting my period.. they say breastfeeding works as a form of birth control

If you haven’t had a period yet, chances are you’re not ovulating as much but doesn’t mean you’re not ovulating at all. My suggestion is to start trying but honestly you might have better luck once you start to ween your baby off breastfeeding

Sudden changes in breastfeeding can make you able to get pregnant. Such as suddenly going 6hours or more in the night without nursing etc. I’ve heard to try for a baby in the middle of the night before that spaced feeding. Though be careful of engorgement

Ovulation comes before bleeding so you could ovulate at anytime and get pregnant and your period wouldn’t come first. Had my baby early Nov and no period yet either with breastfeeding so I started taking a test once a month to be sure I wasn’t. Your period could still start even when breastfeeding it’s not a 100% effective BC

I didn’t get my period till like 3 months ago it only came back when I started birth control but u can get pregnant that’s why I started bc

My daughter was born in December and I’m 10 weeks pregnant. I got pregnant a month after my period returned (6 months PP). And yes my daughter was completely breastfed so it is possible
