Bring a sun canopy! It gets windy in the afternoon though and it can blow the canopy away if you don't secure it well
Oh these are good tips! I’m buying a beach umbrella today. What are the free beaches? I would LOVE specific beaches we should go to. How early in the morning should we go to the beach to get a spot?

THE BEST! Had a blast and hope to go every year. The crowds weren’t bad at all. Definitely bring an umbrella or canopy for shade.

@Catalina we went to north beach twice (bought parking passes the night before each time) and then a free pull off beach. The free beach was rocky but lovely. North beach was sandy and worth the $20!
really crowded! drive around the lake to the free beaches they are so worth it! Visit merlins drive inn for some of the best food up there. bring so much sunscreen since its higher up you burn like a match! i have lived up in bear lake every summer since i was 12 and have actually sun scars lol
