Where did you hear your baby’s name?

Curious to hear what inspired you to choose that name for baby? My baby girl is named Wrenley and when people hear it they automatically assume she’s named after the bird “wren” with a twist. That’s actually incorrect🙃. Her name actually came from our favorite show Game of Thrones😅🤣

The spelling of it is probably why I’d think it was a twist on the bird name, as Renly in the show/books isn’t spelt with a W. Beautiful name regardless 😍 we toyed with a couple of thrones themed names but they don’t fit with our surname so they got vetoed lol

I was like 16 googling biblical boy names and saw Azariah and fell in love with it. 5 years later I was still obsessed with it and name my son Azariah 🥰

Both times I heard my sons names when I worked in nurseries and just loved them

Watched a show called 16 and a pregnant and one girl named her daughter Nevaeh which is heaven spelt backwards. Said if I ever had a girl that's what I'd call her and I did 🥰🥰🥰 My second my partner always wanted Aurelia from love actually

Reyna - first heard it in a tv show years ago and liked it. When I saw it again in a baby name book it just stuck out, then we realised it was an anagram of my partners name so it felt like it was meant to be! I hadn’t even met him yet when I first heard the name.

Yes! My girl’s name is Arwen. I was 8 months pregnant and were somewhat decided on a name. Hubby and I went for a walk to a botanical garden and we kept reading these signs everywhere on how this storm destroyed hundreds of ancient trees and plants on the location recently. There was a gigantic god-knows-what tree lying on the ground defeated. Must have been a mad strong storm. Storm’s name was Arwen. ❤️ (we also do like LOTR but we aren’t fans or anything)

My Magnolia is from Mulan 🌸💗☺️

My husband came up with my son’s name. We are naming him, Maxwell and most people think of the singer Maxwell. Which is kinda funny yet annoying at the same time

I was adding books to my online shopping cart and read a title out loud (to share with my husband how cute the children’s book sounded) and my husband and i both paused and looked at each other like “that’s the one”

It was a name we both loved from a tv show and also a nickname version of my nanas name

I can't even remember where I saw it originally but I liked the name Sonny for my second & then literally throughout my pregnancy I kept seeing it everywhere - on boxing posters when getting my other son's hair cut.. on TV, my son had a hot wheels car which coincidentally had sonny on the side so it just felt like fate.

Emma- the show friends!!!! 🥰

My husband and I were on excursion in Tulum. The first part of the excursion was zip lining, my husband is afraid of heights and was freaking out. There was another family doing the excursion as well and the couple had 3 kids. The youngest was a little girl and she was so brave! She volunteered to go zip lining first while my husband was literally about to cry 😂😂😂😂 Long story short at the end of the excursion we were talking to the other family and I told them that their daughter was so beautiful and brave. I asked her name, they said Arya from their favourite show game of thrones. My husband and I looked at each other like hmmm 🤔 . A year later I got pregnant and that’s my daughter’s name but spelled Aria.

My son's name is Gale and it's from Hunger Games 😅! After I already named him, I found out I have a great uncle Gale. My daughter (due in October) is Alice. I'm sure I first heard it from Alice in Wonderland as a child.

We've got Emilia from GoT ☺️ couldn't exactly call her Danearys 😂

With my first Mio there was a few reasons (pronounced the same as Rio) my niece who sadly passed was called Mya so wanted something similar.. i originally loved the name Romeo but his dad vetoed it so I decided to split it in half 🤣 also his name translated from Italian is my strength and at the time it was just really fitting as I had such a rough time from his dad during my pregnancy and he was just my saviour and has been ever since. I also just really liked the name x

@Elihet oh my gosh, my friend has a daughter named Arwen from LOTR and I've never met someone else with the name 🥰

@Kiyanna my nephews name is Azariah. I never met anyone anyone else with that name. I love it!

My First baby is Scarlett Rose for Scarlett Johansson, the year I got pregnant marvel released the Black widow movie and me and my husband actually love the color red. My second baby is Blue Phoenix, we wanted to stay in the color vibes name. She was going to be Blue Iris to be like her sister ( first name a color - middle name a Flower) but my husband didn’t like Iris so we changed it to Phoenix for the meaning ❤️

My husband picked our daughters first name; Maya. He said he was watching a YouTuber and his girlfriend’s name was Maya and she had a fox on her tshirt (our surname is fox) and he said he felt like it was meant to be and the prettiest name he had ever heard and I loved it too! Haha. Her middle name is Iris as that’s what I wanted for her first name and she’s the goddess of the rainbow in Greek mythology and she’s our rainbow girl! 🌈 x

I’ve always loved the name Aurora since I first watched Sleeping Beauty as a child so I was pretty sure that was always going to be my girls name. And my boy is called Cillian - I was a little bit in love with Cillian Murphy when I watched Peaky Blinders so his name got added to my list 😂 (my husband has Irish heritage and our surname is Irish so it works ☺️)

I heard my first’s in the Olympics several years ago, there was an Australian swimmer named Amon and I thought, that’s a cool name 😅. Now I’ve heard it is in the new Game of Thrones thing and they are bad guys? Kind of annoying. But then my second is Desmond and the only thing that really stuck out to us about that name was that we didn’t know anyone with the name, so it felt like it would just be him. This was important to us to feel rather unique but not be a made up name. Great post btw!

My daughter's name came to me directly from God the moment I saw the positive test!! I knew she was a girl, and I knew her name. Straight from Heaven 🥰

I have always loved Gillian and Sally in Practical Magic. I named my daughter Jillian, also so her nickname could be Jilly Bean since my husband’s family calls him Bean. She’s Baby Bean. Her middle name is August. I wanted to honor my stepmom, brother, and aunt who passed away. They were all born in August.

Marceline and it’s from Adventure Time 🤘🏻🖤

Pinterest naming boards 😅

We named our son Jett and most people assume it’s because we like Top Gun or Joan Jett the singer. No- we just wanted to short fun name for him 😂

@Brittney This is the name me and my husband love if we ever have a Boy 🥹 our two daughters have a color as a name and Jett is a Black color 😍😍

@Maria Camila I love it! It’s such a fun name ♥️

All our kids first names are from books I connected with a various times in life. Middle names are more or less what fits, though two of our boys middles are after hubbys friend who was KIA.

With our first I heard her name on a TV show, with our second I heard her name on TikTok.

@Tara Love this one! Vampire queen ♥️

@Ali we were all wondering if she’d even black hair! But nope — it’s copper 🤍 and I love it so so much!!

We knew we wanted all of our kids named after historical figures—I am a historian, their dad is a huge history buff. Our eldest is named Thaddeus after Thaddeus Stevens, a prominent abolitionist politician during the US Civil War. He was a huge supporter of abolition and equality. Our second is Henry both after my paternal grandfather and Henry Knox, the founding father & first Sec. of War for the US.

I’m love Wrenley for the same reason 😂 my oldest is Waverley and I found it online but lived close to Waverly road as a kid so it’s a nod to that. My second is Tatum and it was really the only name my husband liked but everyone obviously thinks Channing Tatum. If we have a boy he will be named Sadler and I saw it on a headstone in the cemetery down the road lol

@Nika my daughters middle name is similar just spelt Azariyah

1st Alex from The Mummy 2 Nemesis from Resident Evil also Greek mythology 3. Lana after Lana del rey 4. Hugo i just love it

We were so not set on any girls names. We were watching Blue Bloods the week before my due date and both just said “how about Erin?” So that ended up being her name!

My favourite show as a kid was wacky races so Penelope Pitstop stuck with me

The American girl doll Felicity 😊

My daughters name is Hail and I came up with it because I was really into Halestorm and her dad and I are metalheads. I wanted her to have a name that fit our personalities.

My fave movie when I was a kid and loved the name!

My daughter’s name is Raelynn. I first saw it in I believe a due date group suggesting names. We chose it as a feminine twist to Raymond— my husbands late grandfather

@Angela I like that spelling. So beautiful

@Nika yeah looks more feminine ya know lol thank you 😊

Mulan!

My baby is named after his father ❤️

My son is our miracle. I am 37 and I was told for 20 years I would never have children because I have PCOS. I had 3 miscarriages in 2021 I received my miracle in 2023. We chose the biblical name Mordecai from the book of Esther. Mordecai was Esther's uncle and helped her to become Queen Esther. He was a messenger to Esther and helped her spare the lives of all her people. Our son is a true miracle and I believe he will be a messenger to the world.
