What are some names you really dislike?

There's names I'd say I don't like but some of them I really can't stand. I don't mind if someone else calls their child it but just I would never name my child them, I really don't like Teddy. I think its cute for a stuffed animal name but when they're a full grown person, no. Also Alfie mainly because I've met a few and they've not been great people, so it's all personal

Sophie, I’ve always hated it 😂 not cause I know Sophie’s that are a horrible, a very close friend is Sophie. I just hate it I’m unsure why!

I highly dislike girls names after cars - Mercedes, Porsha, etc I highly dislike boys names with their dads name and “son” after - Samson, Jackson, etc And I dislike the many version of Hayden, Kayden, Brayden, etc

@Donna those names predated the car brands fyi

@Phoebe that doesn’t make my dislike for them any less though 🤷🏻‍♀️ My niece is names Porsha and I still hate it.

I agree with Kirsty and Donna! I also don’t love Ophelia, Magnolia, Maeve, lucky, Ruth, Pamela, Nevaeh, Matilda, Dorothy and William. I personally don’t like old school names, I think they are better left in the past (although I know some people would describe them as classic and timeless, but hey to each their own). While I like Olivia, Liam and Noah they are a bit too popular for me. Finally, “unique” spellings. I just find them to be extremely extra.

@Donna I totally feel that. I love Portia but I would think hard abt naming a kid that because of the association. But I grew up in a pretty Hispanic area and I knew a lot of Mercedes's. I've known some boys named Ford though, which I really dislike lol

I don’t like nicknames like Addie. Idk why I just do not like it

Anything spelled crazily or anything that ends in “son”. Also hate “chloe” as I’ve only met one who wasn’t bitchy and stuck up.

I can't stand names hyphenated with May/Mae every child I've ever taught with them has been interesting...

I wish I could react with laughing emojis lol. Unique spellings are annoying

Alfie, or similarly Archie 👎🏼 Teddy is a dogs name…there’s a few boys names I hate from ratbags I’ve dated, mainly beginning with ‘J’ 😂

Loathe Renesmee (from twilight) - met one at a group 😬 and met a Wynter-Rae as well, which grated on me a little with the spelling, and the fact you couldn’t call her just ‘Wynter’ - it had to be the full thing.

Anything with Mae/Rae as a middle name. Any “alternative” spelling. Jackson/Jax or any of the “den” names - Jayden/Kaden etc. Nevaeh 🤢 I don’t personally like any of the top 10 names that have been around for ages. Why would you want your child to be one of 4 Olivia’s or Sophia’s in their class. But I do get why they are popular.

Lol a really mean girl at my school was named Taylor and so I dislike that name a lot. No offense to the Taylors out there 😅 oh and Sophia, it’s like too princessy

Ruby! Every child I have cared for named Ruby has been awful 🤣
